Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Marc,

The AIS350, AIS650, and AIS700 each feature an internal 4800 BAUD to 3800 BAUD NMEA Multiplexer to address situations such as you have described. This would then permit the 38400 BAUD NMEA 0183 leads of the AIS350/650/700 Power/NMEA 0183 Cable to be interfaced to the MFD's NMEA 0183 cable and the 4800 BAUD NMEA 0183 leads of the AIS350/650/700 Power/NMEA 0183 Cable to be interfaced to a 4800 BAUD device(s) within the system.
