[CA11] C120 heading - Waterboy - 04-26-20 08:30 AM

Does the C120 unit require an external electronic( fluxgate) compass to show heading

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Waterboy,

Please click here to view a FAQ addressing this subject. If the value of the Heading data item is reported as dashes, then the MFD has not been interfaced to a source of heading data or that source of such data has failed. As the C-Series Classic MFDs will support receiving heading data from its SeaTalk or NMEA 0183 communications interface and Raymarine no longer produces a heading data source having a SeaTalk communications interface, it would be recommended that a third party NMEA 0183 heading data source such, as one of those listed within the referenced FAQ, be interfaced to power and to the MFD's NMEA 0183 Cable.
