Ferrite Supression required for new ACU-200? - Farley - 12-10-16 12:13 PM I'm upgrading my A/H from a Raymarine 150/400 to the Evolution 1 with the ACU-200. I notice there is a Ferrite Supression module on the power line? Do I need this for my new unit? Any harm in leaving it there? Thanks RE: Ferrite Supression required for new ACU-200? - Chuck - Raymarine - Moderator - 12-13-16 02:01 PM Suppression ferrites Raymarine cables may be fitted with suppression ferrites. These are important for correct EMC performance. Should a ferrite be removed, then the RF emissions produced by the product may cause RF interference with other products (ex. VHF radios, stereo receivers, etc.). If a ferrite has to be removed for any purpose (e.g. installation or maintenance), it must be replaced in the original position before the product is used. Should a ferrite not be packaged with the product, then it should not be necessary to install a ferrite on the cable which will be powering the product. |
