Ferrite Supression required for new ACU-200? - Farley - 12-10-16 12:13 PM

I'm upgrading my A/H from a Raymarine 150/400 to the Evolution 1 with the ACU-200. I notice there is a Ferrite Supression module on the power line? Do I need this for my new unit? Any harm in leaving it there?

Thanks

Suppression ferrites
Raymarine cables may be fitted with suppression ferrites. These are important for correct EMC performance. Should a ferrite be removed, then the RF emissions produced by the product may cause RF interference with other products (ex. VHF radios, stereo receivers, etc.). If a ferrite has to be removed for any purpose (e.g. installation or maintenance), it must be replaced in the original position before the product is used.

Should a ferrite not be packaged with the product, then it should not be necessary to install a ferrite on the cable which will be powering the product.
