DragonFly 7 joystick absent on newer units
I'm a freshwater fisherman who dabbles in fishing tournaments and fortunately for me I got the DragonFly 7 with the joystick, however my fishing partner got a newer one and it was the standard arrow button navigation. We both find the joystick easier to use, especially when we have wet or slick hands. I found the joystick to be a great innovation to the typical boring menu navigation of arrows.
Was there a technical reason Raymarine went away from the joystick with the knob? Or maybe fisherman didn't like the joystick? |

RE: DragonFly 7 joystick absent on newer units
MrFishWhiskers,
Thanks for the product feedback. While Raymarine has not stated any specific reason behind the change, the change to a more conventional trackpad was likely associated with other changes designed to improve the physical robustness, watertight integrity, and resistance build-up of salt deposits, particularly when used in the marine environment. |
