[CA11] Improved “Save Failed†Error Message
In LH 3.5, it would be nice to improve the error message if a write protected card is accidentally introduced into an external slot on the Axiom 9. Currently, home screen>my data>import/export>save my data>xxxx will return the error message “save failed†if the write protect tab is engaged on the micro SD card carrier. Took a while to figure that out...doh. Adding the most likely solutions to the error message would be nice: “save failed - card might be write protected or fullâ€, assuming LH s/w doesn’t receive useful error codes from the hardware drivers.
Thanks Dan |

RE: [CA11] Improved “Save Failed†Error Message
Welcome back to the Raymarine Forum Dan,
Thanks for the feature suggestion. For those unfamiliar with Raymarine's RCR-SD/USB Remote Card reader, it is designed to accommodate a SD card (or SD adapter sleeve) instead of a microSD memory card. Unlike microSD cards, SD adapter sleeves and SD cards feature a switch to lock or unlock write protection to prevent inadvertently changing the memory card's contents. As Dan has suggested, should this switch be in the locked position, then such write failure will occur. A feature request will be logged accordingly to consider adding more descriptive information within the alerts generated for such write failures. Please click here more information concerning feature suggestions. |
