[CA11] Axiom DV with P58
Hi i was wondering if the Axiom 7 DV would work with the my existing p58 transducer? In the future i would be upgrading to a more modern transducer. thanks, Denis

RE: [CA11] Axiom DV with P58
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Denis,

What make/model of fishfinding product was the P58 transducer previously used with?

An older unit. An A50D.

RE: [CA11] Axiom DV with P58
Denis,

Axiom DV MFDs may be adapted (part #A80484) for use with fishfinder transducers such as your P58 MFD which have a plug which permitting the transducer to be directly mated to Transducer socket of an A50D, A57D, or A70D. When interfaced to such a transducer, the Axiom DV MFD would support the same fishfinder features and performance as had been supported by the A50D, A57D, or A70D when used with the same transducer.

Thanks Chuck. Great help. Adapting an old transducer to a new unit isn't easy. Looking forward to trying the RealVision 3d with this unit. Denis

RE: [CA11] Axiom DV with P58
Denis,

The type of fishfinder sonar features supported by the MFD will be dependent upon the following:
- the type of fishfinder circuitry built into the MFD ... Axiom DV MFDs feature internal low power high frequency CHIRP conical / DownVision circuitry and 600W 50kHz/200kHz ClearPulse conical sonar circuitry.
- the type of fishfinder circuitry built into any other compatible MFDs which have been networked to one another within the system ... no other MFDs have been identified within your correspondence
- the type of fishfinder sounder modules (ex. RVX1000 3D CHIRP Sonar Module, CP370 1kW 50kHz/200kHz ClearPulse Sonar Module, CP470/570 CHIRP Sounder Module, etc.) which have been networked to the MFDs
- the model(s) of fishfinder transducer(s) which have been interfaced to the MFD(s) and/or fishfinder sonar module(s) ... in this case the you have indicated only the P58, which will not support RealVision 3D, CHIRP, SideVision, or DownVision fishfinder sonar imaging. This transducer will support the same 50kHz and 200kHz sonar imaging that you had seen with the A50D. An Axiom DV MFD is designed to be interfaced directly to only two types of transducers: DownVision (or CPT-S) and/or compatible 50kHz/200kHz transducer. If interfaced to both to these types of transducers, the Axiom DV MFD would support low power high frequency CHIRP conical sonar imaging, DownVision sonar imaging, 50kHz conical sonar imaging and 200kHz conical sonar imaging.

The Axiom DV MFD would not be able to support RealVision 3D sonar imaging unless it had been interfaced to an Axiom RV MFD, Axiom Pro RVX MFD, or RVX1000 3D CHIRP Sonar Module, which in turn was interfaced to a RealVision Transducer(s).
