nmea0183 multiplexing
I have an E120 MFD and the nmea0183 output from my VHF connected to it. I would now like to add an AIS (Furuno FA150) to it. How do I connect the AIS nmea0183 output to the E120? I want to also leave the VHF connected via the nmea0183.

RE: nmea0183 multiplexing
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Lew,

When interfaced to an AIS receiver, the MFD's Port 1 will need to be configured to AIS 38400. To supply 4800 BAUD GPS data to the system, the MFD may be interfaced to to a SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter, which in turn can transmit 4800 BAUD GPS sentences to a NMEA 0183 listener (ex. VHF Radio, SSB, etc.). Please click here to view a FAQ addressing this subject.
