ES98 Comms to Quantum Radar
Good Morning
I recently installed new electronics on a 2003 Mainship trawler and have attached the wiring diagram. I am using an A78 MFD for a repeater and have not connected that, yet, but everything seems to be communicating but the Quantum scanner. The autopilot was existing. I have not actually tried to pilot a course yet, but it appears to be communicating as does the VHF and the ST60 Wind Indicator. I am hardwired with a Raynet cable and the scanner has WiFi capabilities but the MFD does not seem to sense the scanner in either mode. The radar acts like it is not powering up. I have checked power to the power cable, but not the end at the scanner. Before I take the scanner down to check power to that end of the cable, is there anything that I might be missing at the MFD that would give me those indications? thanks |

RE: ES98 Comms to Quantum Radar
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum morseg,
Should a Quantum Radome be interfaced to the system via Ethernet, then it will be unable to be paired via Wi-Fi. It is recommended that you verify that the MFD has been updated with the latest available Raymarine product software updates and if not, update the MFD's software. As indicated here, it is recommended that the Quantum Radome be connected to switched power circuit which would control power to the Quantum Radome alone. Should it be powered as such, then it would be recommended that power to the Quantum Radome be switched OFF, and then ON again to wake it up. Should that not address the problem, then it is recommended that the MFD's Select Devices list be examined to determine whether the Quantum Radome is listed among the devices. If so, then it would be recommended that you verify that it also has been updated with the latest available Raymarine product software updates and if not, that you update the Quantum Radome's software. However, should the Quantum Radome be receiving power and not be listed within the Select Devices list, then it would be recommended that the radome be sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center to be bench checked / serviced. |
