(DG) DSM300
I currently have a C120W that has one of the Seatalk HS hooked to a radar and the other Seatalk HS is not being used. I recently purchased a DSM300. Is the preferred connection directly to the DSM using the Seatalk HS ports? Do I need a crossover cable?

RE: (DG) DSM300
Hi OLMako20
Thank you for your enquiry. The DSM300 can be connected direct to the other STHS socket on the C120W, no crossover cable is needed this link describes in detail the connection methods. Regards |

RE: (DG) DSM300
I am trying to figure out a good place to mount the DSM. There is room behind the dash to the right of the autopilot. It’s this a good place to mount? Or should I try to find another spot further away from the other electronics? the dash tips forward in the picture attached and the spotlight control could be relocated.

RE: (DG) DSM300
Hi OLMako20
The location behind the dash that you suggest should be fine, just make sure - like any of the other electronics that it is not subject to excessive vibration or heat. Sometimes it is best to mount it onto wood, which is glassed onto the fibreglass surface since this will damp down any vibration. Regards |
