[CA11] Axiom Fuel flow transmitter for Mercuser engine
What do I need to get FF reading on the Axion 9 MFD? NAVICO Electronic Fuel Flow Probe Sensor compatible display unit connected to the NMEA 2000® network, so why will this not work???

RE: [CA11] Axiom Fuel flow transmitter for Mercuser engine
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum trcsmith,

Raymarine MFDs are simply designed to repeat data from third party NMEA 2000 data sources. As indicated within the FAQ found here, Raymarine products are neither designed to configure nor to to calibrate third party sensors. Configuration and calibration of third party sensors must be performed using the device(s) and/or computer software specified by the manufacturer of the third party sensor. As indicated within the referenced FAQ, it would be expected that Instance ID 0 would be transmitted within the PGNs transmitted by the vessel's single fuel flow sensor. Should another instance ID be transmitted, then the MFD would not report fuel rate for Engine 1. Prior Navico (Lorance) fuel flow sensors as well as the current designed require a compatible Navico (Lorance) display perform such configuration and calibration. More information on this subject may be found within Navico's Sensor Setup Guide. Should further assistance be required with configuring / calibrating your Navico fuel flow sensor, then it would be recommended that Navico / Lowrance Support 1-800-628-4487 (Canada: 855-361-1564) be contacted.

Should the sensor have been configured to transmit Instance ID 0 within the transmitted fuel PGNs, then nothing more need be done within the MFD other than to display the Engine 1 Fuel Rate data item within one of the Dashboard application's data panels.
