RE: [DG11] Upgrading
Hi Wolfsb
Thank you for your enquiry. The c80 can be replaced with an AXIOM display, do you have a radar or sonar connected to the the c80 since this may affect what version of AXIOM you require, but in principle there is a straightforward upgrade to the c80, the AXIOM can use an adapter panel - A80564, however, if you chose the AXIOM PRO version, you would need to fabricate some form of new dash panel for the new display due to the different form factor - size and shape. The new AXIOM uses a different protocol (STng) for data to the c80 (SeaTalk), but can be connected to your existing SeaTalk system onboard using an E22158 SeaTalk to STng converter. This enables the AXIOM to display all your current nav information. You can also create routes on the AXIOM and the existing Autopilot can then track to these routes too, so you have partial autopilot integration with the new MFD. You may then choose to update your Autopilot at some future point too which will then give a full integration of the autopilot with the AXIOM. If you have more information about what else is connected to the c80 we can give you a more specific guide. Thanks Derek |
