How to take a screenshot on your MFD
If you ever need to ask for help on the Raymarine forum or elsewhere, it's fantastic to have images of whatever it is that want to ask about. Photos on your phone are better than nothing, but very often not much better.
Much better, and much easier on a boat moving at 20+ knots, is a screenshot. All recent Raymarine MFDs have shortcuts that allow you to save an exact image of whatever's on the screen onto the card that's in the chart slot. LightHouse 3: Axiom range, eS and gS-series upgraded to LH3
LightHouse 1 & 2: a, c, e, eS and gS-series MFDs
Classic and Widescreen series: C70, C80, C120, E80, E120, C90W, C120W, C140W, E90W, E120W, E140W
Once you have taken your screenshots you can copy them off the card using a Windows or Mac computer and then either add them to a post here on the forum, or send them to Raymarine tech support via email or our file transfer service, https://transfer.flir.com, if you are already dealing with someone in Raymarine tech support. If you have to take a photo Please:
Here are 3 examples of photos we've been sent that weren't at all useful: And here's an example of a useful screenshot for comparison: We can help you much better if we can clearly see what you're seeing. Thanks. RAYFAQ# Raymarine since 1999. Interests: Diagnosis of problems in sonar/fishfinders, NMEA2000, ethernet comms, autopilots, thermal cameras Location: Sydney, Australia. Please don't PM me asking for direct support, please ask a public question instead so that others can see the question and answer. Forum posts will always be answered before PM requests. |
