Power ON Factory Reset Procedure for eS/gS-Series & Axiom/Axiom Pro/Axiom MFDs
Power ON Factory Reset Procedure for eS/gS-Series & Axiom/Axiom Pro/Axiom MFDs
Power ON Factory Reset may be directed by Raymarine's Product Support Team to address instability, slowed performance, and other behaviors believed to be rooted in the MFD software. If performing a Power ON Factory Reset, it should be performed individually on each of the system's MFDs, while the system's other MFDs are switched OFF. The Power ON Factory Reset option is accessed during boot up from a MFD's Initialization / Recovery screen. NOTE: Performing a Power ON Factory Reset will erase all user data and configuration settings will be restored to factory default values. Accordingly and if of value, all system data and Digital Switching configuration should be saved to a microSD memory card prior to executing a a Power ON Factory Reset. The following procedures may be used to access an eS and a gS-Series MFD: eS-Series MFDs: 1) switch the MFD OFF via its power button 2) hold the Back button pressed 3) switch the MFD ON via its power button 4) continue holding Back button pressed until the Raymarine Recovery Screen is displayed gS-Series MFDs: 1) switch the MFD OFF via its Power button 2) switch the MFD ON via its Power button to initiate the power up initialization 3) once the power up initialization has commenced, hold the Power button pressed until the Raymarine Recovery Screen is displayed For Axiom/Axiom Pro/Axiom XL MFDs, we have found it more reliable access the Raymarine Recovery Screen by using the following procedures: Axiom & Axiom XL MFDs: 1) power the system's MFDs ON and permit all to complete initialization 2) using the power swipe or power button of the system's MFD's switch OFF all MFDs except that that which you will be resetting 3) switch the circuit supplying power to the MFD OFF 3) continuously swipe your finger from right to left across the power swipe 4) switch the circuit supplying power to the MFD ON (it may be helpful to have the assistance of a second person if the circuit panel is not within arms reach) 5) continue wipe your finger from right to left across the power swipe until the Raymarine Recovery Screen is displayed 6) select the wipe data / factory reset option from the Raymarine Recovery Screen's menu. Axiom Pro: 1) power the MFD ON and permit it to complete initialization 2) switch the circuit supplying power to the MFD OFF 3) hold the Back and Active buttons pressed 4) switch the circuit supplying power to the MFD ON (it may be helpful to have the assistance of a second person if the circuit panel is not within arms reach) 5) continue holding Back and Active buttons pressed until the Raymarine Recovery Screen is displayed 6) select the wipe data / factory reset option from the Raymarine Recovery Screen's menu.
