[CA11] A98 wifi to A78 wifi interface
Did a search but still confused.
I currently have an a98 as the main unit with quantum radar connected via wifi and want to connect the a78 at the stern to share this information. How can i do this and with what part numbers. Distance is about 17' |

RE: [CA11] A98 wifi to A78 wifi interface
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum jjs,
The a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs are designed to be networked to one another: - via an appropriate length of RayNet (F) to RayNet (F) Cable (for systems featuring only two compatible products having an Ethernet Network (RayNet) communications interface) - via a pair of RayNet (F) to RayNet (F) cables which have been joined with a HS5 RayNet Network Switch (for systems featuring compatible products having an Ethernet Network (RayNet) communications interface but whose MFDs lack a sufficient number of Ethernet Network ports to accommodate interfacing these devices to one another) |

RE: [CA11] A98 wifi to A78 wifi interface
jjs,
Should each MFD not have an unused Ethernet Network (RayNet) socket, then a pair of RayNet (F) to RayNet (F) cables which have been joined with a HS5 RayNet Network Switch would indeed be required. However, should each MFD have an unused Ethernet Network (RayNet) socket, then an appropriate length of RayNet (F) to RayNet (F) cable may be used to interface these MFDs to one another. |

RE: [CA11] A98 wifi to A78 wifi interface
So, no sockets are currently used which means that 1 cable in between the 2 units will link them together?
Will the wifi radar show up as well on both units? |

jjs,
Q1. So, no sockets are currently used which means that 1 cable in between the 2 units will link them together? A1. Yes. Q2. Will the wifi radar show up as well on both units? A2. Yes. All data and resources are shared between the MFDs via this single cable. |
