RAY53 VHF replacement
I have an older RAY53 on my boat, and want to replace it as part of a full electronics upgrade (A12, new autopilot, a few i70's, all sorts of good stuff)

Having trouble finding the installed dimensions of the RAY53, and if there is a new radio that is a direct replacement (or slightly larger to ensure a clean fit.

Any recommendations?

RE: RAY53 VHF replacement
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum psubill78,

The dimensions of the Ray53 are as follows:
Height 55 mm (2.17 inches)
Width 145 mm (5.7 inches)
Depth 160 mm (6.3 inches)

The dimensions of the Ray53 surface mount cutout are as follows:
Height 47 mm (1.85 inches)
Width 134 mm (5.27 inches)

Raymarine has not produced a VHF radio which has been designed to exactly fit the cutout and footprint of the Ray53. However, the closest currently manufactured Raymarine VHF radio would be the Ray50/52. Th Ray52 features a built-in GPS sensor. The dimensions of the Ray50/52 are as follows:
Height 88.5 mm (3.5 inches)
Width 156 mm (6.1 in.)

The dimensions of the Ray53 surface mount cutout are as follows:
Height 59 mm (2.3 inches)
Width 144.6 mm (5.7 inches)
