RE: Smart Controller and Base Station/Seatalk ng
Keith,
Thanks for catching the typo. The sentence should have stated "Finally, the yellow SeaTalk socket of the SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter may be interfaced to the D244 SeaTalk Junction Block using the SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Cable supplied with the SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter Kit." |

RE: Smart Controller and Base Station/Seatalk ng
This FAQ contains information that I did not find elsewhere, specifically the part about removing the power to the SeaTalk(1) "bus". Now that SeaTalk(1) documentation is disappearing in the rearview mirror, it would be great if the "SeaTalk to SeaTalkng converter Installation instructions 87255-1-EN" could be updated to include this guidance.

RE: Smart Controller and Base Station/Seatalk ng
Keith,
While the SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter's documentation was updated in 2015 to specify support for autopilots and autopilot remote controls (wired and wireless) featuring a SeaTalk communications interface, it lacks information concerning the maximum number of SeaTalk devices which may be powered by each SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter and the best practice of powering the SeaTalk bus(ses) from the SeaTalkng backbone via the SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter(s). A request has been submitted to Raymarine's documentation team to update this document accordingly with the information included within the referenced FAQ. |
