[CA11] E120 Classic MFD Cables vs Axiom Cables
I am replacing a pair of Raymarien E120 classic MFDs with Axiom MFDs. There is a RayNet network switch in the system. Will the legacy ethernet cables work with eh Axiom, and if not what adaptor cables are needed to install a pair of Aiom MFDs in a legacy MFD system?

RE: [CA11] E120 Classic MFD Cables vs Axiom Cables
Welcome back to the Raymarine Forum olesenrl.

Q1. There is a RayNet network switch in the system.
A1. Unless it had been retrofitted, one would not typically have installed a HS5 RayNet Network Switch within a system featuring E-Series Classic MFDs. In such systems, a SeaTalkhs Network Switch or SR6 Sirius Satellite Wx / Radio Receiver / Network Switch would have been used. The SeaTalkhs Cables which would have been interfaced to the latter switches featured a common RJ45 (M) plug, while the other end of the cable featured a SeaTalkhs (M) plug.

Q2. Will the legacy ethernet cables work with eh Axiom, and if not what adaptor cables are needed to install a pair of Aiom MFDs in a legacy MFD system?
A2. As indicated within the FAQ addressing replacement of E-Series Classic MFDs with Axiom MFDs, should the E-Series Classic MFD currently be interfaced to the system via a SeaTalkhs Cable, then the Axiom MFD replacing the E-Series Classic MFD may be adapted to use the currently installed SeaTalkhs Cable by using an A80160 SeaTalkhs (F) to RayNet (F) Adapter.
