I have a sailing yacht, 32 ft,
which of the 2 computers would be a better fit, which one is newer?

Autohelm 300 versus Smartpilot S1

and does the ST7001+ works with one of these computers?

Thankyou for your enquiry,

The T300 Computer was retired in 2002 and predates the S1 in terms of age, which was retired in 2009.

The ST7001+ will work with both of these computers, but will have better functionality with the S1.

The Choice of course computer also depends on the drive unit you have - the S1 will operate the Tiller drive and Wheel drive - but none of the below decks drives like a T1 mechanical linear drive.

Given that we no longer carry spares for either of the course computers that you mention, we would recommend you look at the current range of Autopilots, the Evolution series.
