[TG11] Transducer Mount Cracked again....
The transducer mount (Dragonfly 7) has cracked again!
When I replace the mount, it will be the third time. Has anyone else experienced this problem? (I see this seems to be the norm as per other forums). It seems to be poor materials used in the manufacture of the mount. Has anyone received a positive response from Raymarine regarding this issue? |

RE: [TG11] Transducer Mount Cracked again....
Hello 5outta6,
Here in Australia, what we've seen is that some boats seem to repeatedly break brackets and others have the same one for life. The significant majority of boats don't break brackets, but of course it's the ones that do that you hear about online. When we came across our first cases we did a bit of investigation of our own, since the brackets are designed and tested to cope with a pretty high speed. We found a few common causes for broken brackets amongst the ones we've seen:
It's not easy to tell for sure from the photo, but I have to say that it looks to me as if your bracket might have gone in the spot that usually indicates over-tightening. Please don't PM me asking for direct support, please ask a public question instead so that others can see the question and answer. Forum posts will always be answered before PM requests. |
