Raymarine c125 compatability with nmea 0183
I have a Raychart 600a hooked up with Raytheon R20/21xx radar (both early version nmea0183).

The C125 info says it has nmea 0183 connection - will it work with my old Raytheon R20/21xx radar in place of the Rayhart 600a?

RE: Raymarine c125 compatability with nmea 0183
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Joe,

Raymarine's a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs feature support for NMEA 0183 v4.0. As indicated by NMEA, it is in theory backward compatible to versions of the protocol back to NMEA 0183 2.00. We typically don't recommend interfacing the a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs with products supporting NMEA 0183 versions earlier than v2.1 (such as the products which you have identified). Some third party marine electronics product/accessory manufactureres(ex. Brookhouse, etc.) offer a multiplexer supporting conversion of NMEA 0183 v1.5 to v2.1 and/or SeaTalk. If converted to SeaTalk, then a SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter may then be used to bridge the SeaTalk data to SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 for use by Raymarine's currently manufactured products.
