MFD display of AIS
What happens on an a98 if I have AIS data connected to NMEA port 2 and over the NMEA2000 backbone? Will it display both sets of data or will it simply not work and neither will display?

RE: MFD display of AIS
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum heatz,

When interfacing an AIS receiver to a MFD, it should be interfaced to the MFD via SeaTalkng or NMEA 0183, but not both. Failure to heed this recommendation may result in intermittent reports of "NO AIS", loss of GPX FIX, and other issues. In conjunction with current product designs, it is generally recommended that AIS receivers / transceivers be interfaced to the system via SeaTalkng rather than NMEA 0183, as doing so would
- make AIS data available to other devices within the system (ex. i70 MFIDs), and
- Raymarine MFDs are not designed to bridge AIS data received from a NMEA 0183 source to SeaTalkng.
