Downvision = blackscreen
I tried the downvision yesterday for the first time this season. It is a black screen but shows the depth in the data box. Is this an indication of a bad ducer??

RE: Downvision = blackscreen
Hello ubettcha,
What version of Downvision are you using? Is this with your built in sonar? e.g., es78? Or are you using a CP100? |

RE: Downvision = blackscreen
Hello ubettcha,
Thank you for your response. If your numerical depth reading is displayed in the databar, or another fishfinder screen, then you may be seeing a depth reading from a different transducer/sounder on board. You are able to change the transducer providing your depth reading for your display by following these button presses: From Home screen> setup> system settings> data sources> depth> select your depth source. If the numerical depth reading is in the bottom left corner of a single Downvision fishfinder screen, there is a possibility the angle of your transducer is affecting its performance. If you are using a transom mounted transducer, I would try changing the angle of it. The transducer may be missing a lot of the return sound wave and the sounder is not able to produce a proper image, but has enough coming back to produce a numerical readout. If changing the angle of the transducer does not help, and you have checked all settings are normal, then you may have something wrong with the transducer. - Dave |
