[CA] NMEA 0183 Connections
I need to connect the NMEA-0183 output of a Raystar 125 to an e165.
The GPS has a single yellow output lead whereas the MFD has + and - input leads. If I connect the yellow output lead from the GPS to the + input lead on the MFD, what should I do with the - input lead?

RE: [CA] NMEA 0183 Connections
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum jwasko,

As you have inferred, the Raystar 125 GPS Sensor may be wired to support 4800 BAUD NMEA 0183 communications. Raymarine's a9x/a12x/e/eS9x/eS12x/gS-Series MFDs and Axiom Pro MFDs all support use of the same Power/NMEA 0183/Analog Video Input Cables. The Raystar 125 GPS Sensor cable's red lead will be interfaced to a switched +12V power circuit and will be protected with a 2A fuse. The Raystar 125 GPS Sensor cable's black / bare wire lead will be interfaced to battery ground. Please see the chart below addressing how the Raystar 125 GPS Sensor Cable's leads will be interfaced to to the NMEA 0183 Port 1 leads of the MFD's Power/NMEA 0183/Video Input cable:

Thank you Chuck

That's exactly the information I needed.
