[CA] Autopilot compass shows 180 degrees off
Just on board our new boat with Raymarine Autopilot system.

The P70S Pilot head displays the course 180 degrees off. The plotter also displays the boat backwards. The autopilot does not work correctly attempting a lock turn as soon as its engaged.

The system includes P70S, EV1, ACU400 computer, Lewmar Mamba drive. We also have a rudder indicator which is working fine and displays the rudder movement correctly on the P70S. Its just the heading which is 180 degrees off.

I'm sure this is a simple setting somewhere but can't find it. Thanks for your help!

Paul

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Paul,

It is recommended that you start by ensuring that the EV-1 CCU has not been installed within 3' of objects capable of producing a magnetic field. Please click here to view a FAQ addressing this subject. It is additionally recommended that you ensure that EV-1 CCU's arrow is facing directly forward. If so, and upon completion of the Autopilot Set-Up Wizard it is necessary to take the boat on a short cruise to permit the EV-1 CCU to determine a deviation table corresponding to the sensed magnetic fields. lease click here to view a FAQ addressing this subject. Should this have been performed, then please respond with the magnitude of the maximum deviation sensed by the EV-1 CCU.
