[CA] DSC Support in Lighthouse 3.4
I am trying to determine whether my Axiom MFD will display DSC position reports received through the StNG backbone. My Standard Horizon GX2200 is connected to a NMEA adaptor that transmits DSC information through the NMEA 2000 PGN 129808 sentence. I don't see 12908 listed on the chart of supported NMEA 2000 PGNs in the Lighthouse 3.4 Advanced Operating Instructions or any other PGN that looks to be DSC-related. However, I see in the Lighthouse Advanced Operating Instructions that there is an alarm for receipt of DSC distress messages. So, it appears that DSC information is received in some fashion. I did several searches in the forum and did not find any information on this topic. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

RE: [CA] DSC Support in Lighthouse 3.4
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Claygr,

While Raymarine's Ray50/Ray52/Ray60/Ray70 VHF Radios, LightHouse 3 software (v3.4.66 at the time of this response) has not yet implemented NMEA 2000 PGN 129808 - DSC Call Information. A feature request has been logged to consider this feature for inclusion within a future LightHouse 3 software update.

RE: [CA] DSC Support in Lighthouse 3.4
Helping a friend interface his Axiom9 with NMEA0183 and we are having this issue. He has the latest LH3.6 as of this date. Installed an Actisense converter into the NG backbone via a Devicenet cable. VHF is a Horizon GX2000. L/L is being received by the VHF but when a position report request is received by the VHF, it's not being displayed on the Axiom9.

Personally, I have an e125 with the same radio connected by NMEA0183 and when I receive a DSC position report on the VHF a dialog box pops up on my e125 and asks if I want to "Place a Waypoint". Is the Axiom9 with the latest software unable to do this?
The 3.6xx manual says PGN129808 is supported.

Thanks

RE: [CA] DSC Support in Lighthouse 3.4
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum TKP62,

The LightHouse 3 v3.6.32 does indeed support NMEA 2000 PGN 129808. The latest version of software posted for the Actisense NGW-1 is v2.420 and hasn’t been updated since 2012. According to the Actisense NGW-1 v2.420 Conversion List (see attachment), neither the DSC NMEA 0183 sentence, nor NMEA 2000 PGN 129808 are supported by Actisense NGW-1 v2.420 software. Accordingly, it would be recommended that Actisense be lobbied to add support for these items.
