[CA11] a125 reboots on second card insertion
I have an a125 MFD.
One slot is populated with a Navionics card. I want to use the second, for backup, tracks, etc. As I insert the second card, 4gb or 8gb, formatted FAT32 and clean, the a125 sits there - looking dead for about 20 to 30 seconds, then just reboots. It will continue like this, until I remove the blank card. then it works just fine. If I do not have the Navionics card in - and just this blank one, it starts and operates just fine. Any ideas around this? |

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum jdiesel,
The reported behavior is indeed not normal. What version of software is installed within the MFD? |

RE: [CA11] a125 reboots on second card insertion
jdiesel,
Thanks for providing the requested additional data. It appears that the MFD has been updated with the latest LightHouse II software. As specified previously, the reported issue is quite atypical, cannot be duplicated here, and as such, we can only advise the following: - Test the MFD with the Sonar Logging and SonarChart Live features disabled within the Chart application pane. - Use the Navionics Chart Installer to erase and then re-populate the chart card's contents with Freshest Data updates and then test - Perform a System Settings & Data Reset & then re-test Should none of the above correct the reported issue, then it would be recommended that the MFD be sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center to be bench checked / serviced. If doing so, be certain to include the chart card and microSD card(s) which produced the problem. |

Thanks Chuck, let me try your tests and see where I get first, we are in South America at the moment, so sending back is a real pain.

Chuck
I think that I have bigger problems. Yesterday, my MFD crashed 3 times on a short trip. Today, I decided to re-install all software freshly downloaded - and then perform a factory reset. Now, as my MFD boots, I have screens freezing on me. For example, I can get to the wifi screen, I can set the name, but by the time I get to the wifi password, the screen has frozen. I cannot get anything out of it at all, at least the touch screen. The power button does indeed pop up the brightness screen and it does allow me to shut it down. The only way out, is a shutdown and restart. Sometimes I can get to a chart, later on today, I managed to configure a new shortcut on the main page, but it froze while configuring the shortcut. I think that I have to send it back. Can you please pass along the procedure for an RMA, the unit is under warranty. I am currently in Colombia, South America. Jason |
