I performed a search but failed to locate an answer. I can only mount or install the p70r on the starboard interior wall of my boat. No room remains on the dash. Can the p70r mount in any position or orientation without affecting performance of the autopilot? In my case, the p70r will face port with the unit’s back to starboard opposed to a traditional mount of facing stern with unit’s back to the bow. Thank you.

Dear Sir,
Thankyou for your enquiry,

The p70r can be mounted port or starboard, facing forward or aft, with no affect on performance at all. The p70r is simply a means of operating the autopilot and displaying information.

The components that are sensitive to orientation and location are the EV1 sensor and the ACU.
