[CA11] Serious Evolution / P70 issue
Last night we were struggling with adverse conditions offshore Colombia when the heading nudge buttons did some wierd stuff. On one occasion the +10 button changed the heading from 90deg to 190deg. Shortly after it went from 110deg to 360deg. I have been loathe to use the system since as this was pretty scary. Is this a known problem? Is there a fix?

My response may be slow as I may not have internet access for a while.

Thanks
Graham

RE: [CA11] Serious Evolution / P70 issue
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Graham,

The reported symptom is quite atypical. What is value of the maximum deviation detected by your autopilot (MENU->SET-UP->DIAGNOSTICS->ABOUT PILOT ... scroll to view "Deviation" value)? Has a rudder reference transducer been connected to the autopilot? If so, is it reporting the correct rudder angle? Are there any points of the rudders swing which appear to be dead spots in reported rudder angle (i.e. rudder angle not changing as rudder moves)? What versions of software are installed within the autopilot's EV-1 CCU and ACU?
