[CA11] Integrating airmar triducer b744v into seatalk network
Hi,
I have Raymarine L1250 plotter, to which my airmar b744v triducer is connected. Then this L1250 is connected via seatalk cable to my st5000+ Control head. Now, I’m changing my old L1250 plotter to a new a78 with chirp transducer. I’m gonna use E22158 to connect st5000+ to my a78. Here goes question now: how do I connect my old airmar b744v to all this?
Regards,
George

RE: [CA11] Integrating airmar triducer b744v into seatalk network
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum George,

Q. how do I connect my old airmar b744v to all this?
A. Unfortunately, the internal low power / high frequency CHIRP and DownVision sonar circuitry of an ax8 MFD or eSx8 MFD is not designed support use with a 50kHz/200kHz transducer such as your B744V. However, should the B744V be interfaced to a CP370 Fishfinder Sounder Module, then the CP370 may in turn be interfaced to the Ethernet Network socket of the a78 MFD via an appropriate length of RayNet (F) to RayNet (F) Cable. This would then permit the a78 MFD to display 50kHz and 200kHz sonar imagery and depth performance which would be very similar to that of your B744V transducer when use with the L1250 Fishfinder.
