[CA11] Gs 165 Intermittent Touch screen failures
Hello,

I have started getting intermittent touch screen failure on my Gs 165 running Lighthouse II.
When it happens the touch screen will not work at all.
After a power cycle it seems to reset it and it begins working again. Sometimes for a few seconds sometimes for a couple hours.
It seems sporadic.

Do you have any recommendations for a fix?

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Drifter2,

Following the cessation of LightHouse II software development, it was determined that leaving the Chart application's Sonar Logging configuration setting (MENU->PRESENTATION->DEPTHS & CONTOURS->SONAR LOGS) enabled for long periods of time can cause a system to behave in the manner specified. Within MFDs running LightHouse II software, the default setting of the Chart application's Sonar Logging configuration setting is ON. Should this problem be encountered and should one not actively be engaged in recording bottom depths, then it would be recommended that the Chart application's Sonar Logging feature be disabled. Should the problem continue to persist thereafter, then it would be recommended that the MFD's waypoint, route, and track data be backed up to a microSD memory card, that the MFD's customizations and settings be noted (recommend taking screen snapshots or photographs)and that a System Settings & Data Reset (HOME->SETUP->MAINTENANCE->SYSTEM SETTINGS & DATA RESET) be executed ... be certain to disable the Sonar Logging feature afterwards. Should the problem persist thereafter, then it would be recommended that the MFD be tested with another Navionics chart card. Should the problem persist or no other Navionics chart card be available for testing, then it would be recommended that the MFD and Navionics chart card only be sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center to be bench checked / serviced.

Additionally, it would be considered to be a best practice that any time that the vessel anchors or ties up, that any track which as been started be stopped (and saved if so desired). A new track may then be started when the vessel gets underway again.
