[LW] [LW11] Evolution 100 and Remote S100, tack problem in wind mode

[LW11] Evolution 100 and Remote S100, tack problem in wind mode
I have an Evolution 100 autopilot with the remote controller S100. My S100 base unit with SeaTalk is connected to SeaTalk NG via the SeaTalk NG converter (sw 2.03).
P70s sw 3.07, ACU 100 sw 2.23, EV1 sw 2.18

When I sail in wind mode and make a tack using my P70s everything works fine. But when I give a tack command from my remote control unit the autopilot switches itself from Wind mode to Auto Mode.

I have the latest available sw in my autopilot components, and to me it seems to be the SeaTalk NG converter that causes the problem that the autopilot come back to auto mode when I tack from S100. Have you identified the same problem? If so do you plan to correct the sw before next sailing season?

RE: [LW11] Evolution 100 and Remote S100, tack problem in wind mode
Dear Stefan,

Thank you for your query.

Just to confirm that the S100 is in sailing boat mode when trying to tack from the S100?

RE: [LW11] Evolution 100 and Remote S100, tack problem in wind mode
Hi
I confirm that S100 is in sail mode. Went to my boat today and checked it to be 100% sure.
It works as it should to tack in wind mode to make tacks when I use my P70s but its not possible from my remote control unit.

Edit: Its possible to make tacks from S100. But it makes a switch from wind mode to auto mode. This mode switch happens only when I use the remote control unit.

RE: [LW11] Evolution 100 and Remote S100, tack problem in wind mode
Dear Stefan,

Thank you for the reply.

We have not had any other issues similar to this reported, we have tested the S100 with an EV1 and the tack operates as expected.

You must ensure you select pilot to confirm the tack, if you press mode to confirm it the S100 reverts to auto. Other than this, we cannot recreate the issue.

You may have a faulty unit, please book a test and repair here

Many Thanks
Louise

RE: [LW11] Evolution 100 and Remote S100, tack problem in wind mode
Dear Servicedesk,

I have the same configuration as Stefan but with an ACU200.

This week I installed the remote control S100 with Seatalk-Seatalk NG convertor.

I have the same problem as described when trying to tack using the S100. All other commands from the S100 works fine.

Please view attached movie to see the problem.

Will this problem be solved by Raymarine (or maybe it is already solved)?

RE: [LW11] Evolution 100 and Remote S100, tack problem in wind mode
Thank you for your post.

I can confirm that the S100 will drop into automode when using the tack function in windvane mode, once the tack is complete it will remain in automode. You will need to re-instate windvane mode.

There are currently no plans to change this behavior.

Many Thanks
Louise
