[CA11] C70 Classic to Standard Horizon VHF
Hello,

I have the Raymarine C70 Classic MFD (with the latest software). It gets GPS from an external GPS antenna - I am not able to determine how the antenna connects, I thought it was via the NMEA 0183 port but it appears to connect via Seatalk. I also have ST70 tridata, autopilot, and wind direction, as well as Raymarine autopilot and radar.

Some device is connected to the MFD's NMEA 0183 port but I am not able to determine what it is from the cable.

I installed a Standard Horizon GX 2200 VHF last year that has GPS and AIS and has a NMEA 0183 output. Ideally, I'd like to see the VHF's AIS data on the MFD - it looks like the only connection opportunity is to connect via the MFD's NMEA 0183 port. Is that accurate? Thank you!

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Beneteau343,

Q. it looks like the only connection opportunity is to connect via the MFD's NMEA 0183 port. Is that accurate?
A. Correct. Please click here to view a FAQ addressing this subject. To interface these products to one another:
- connect the MFD's NMEA 0183 OUT+ (yellow) lead to the NMEA 0183 IN+ (blue) lead of the GX2200
- connect the MFD's NMEA 0183 OUT- (brown) lead to the NMEA 0183 IN- (green) lead of the GX2200
- connect the MFD's NMEA 0183 IN+ (white) lead to the NMEA 0183 OUT+ (gray) lead of the GX2200
- connect the MFD's NMEA 0183 IN- (green) lead to the NMEA 0183 OUT- (brown) lead of the GX2200
- Configure the GX2200's NMEA DATA IN/OUT setting to 38400 BPS.
- Configure the MFD's NMEA 0183 NMEA Port Setting to AIS 38400.
- To view AIS objects within the MFD's Chart application, configure the AIS objects layer to ON, and verify that the MFD is receiving a GPS position FIX via the MFD's GPS Status dialog.
