max size CF card for E80

What is the maximum size CF card the E80 Classic can accept? The reason I am asking is I have a 64k card with navionics on it and it reads fine. I transferred the navionics to a 2G and also an 8G CF card, neither would read navionics in the E80. I did the SW upgrade using the 2G card in the E80 and it read fine and upgraded. Is there a difference between the navionics card and the SW update as o the size the E80 will accept?
