Axiom Sailboat Transducer
We have purchased a new Axiom 9" for our 1995 Gozzard 36 Sailboat. We are having a difficult time understanding which through-hull transducer to purchase to get the full use or our new Axiom?

The attached photos show the location of the existing transducer which is were we would like to place the new one. It appears there is very little deadrise at the location. The existing transducer is part of a 1995 Autohelm ST50 Plus suite.

Please advise which transducer or transducer options we need to complete our new system.

Thank you,
Addison

RE: Axiom Sailboat Transducer
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Addison,

Raymarine has not yet released installation documentation for the thru-hull RealVision 3Dâ„¢ transducers. Should the installation documentation for these transducers follow those for thru-hull CHIRP/DownVision fishfinder transducers, then a 0 degree thru-hull RealVision 3Dâ„¢ transducer would be installed slightly forward of the keel with no transducer installed forward of the RealVision 3Dâ„¢ transducer. The hull forward of the RealVision 3Dâ„¢ transducer would need to be free of any thru-hulls or hull features which would result in an aerated flow of water across the face of the transducer. This may necessitate that any speed transducer be relocated. Option 6 of the following diagram illustrates where a thru-hull CHIRP/DownVision fishfinder transducer would typically be installed on a full keel sailboat:

Thank you, this is very helpful. Which thru-hull CHIRP/DownVision fishfinder transducer do you recommend we install if we chose not to spring for the RealVision 3D?

Addison,

The CPT-110 (Plastic) or CPT-120 (Bronze) CHIRP/DownVision Transducers would be used if seeking CHIRP (conical) and DownVision features alone within the AXIOM MFD. Both of these transducers are supplied with fairing blocks.

RE: Axiom Sailboat Transducer
Hello Chuck:

Does A80465 RV-200 RealVision 3D Bronze Through Hull comes with fairing block? I have concern with deadrise angle

RE: Axiom Sailboat Transducer
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Juan,

Fairing blocks are neither supplied nor produced for thru-hull RV transducers as they designed to be mounted directly to the hull. Raymarine offers RV transducer pairs (12 degree and 20 degree) for use hulls having 8 degrees or more of deadrise.
