Data source selection not possible
Data source selection not possible
The Multiple Data Sources (MDS) feature is intended to permit more than one instance of a NMEA 2000 data source to be interfaced to a SeaTalkng/NMEA 2000 backbone to which an a/c/e/eS/gS-Series Data Master MFD, i70 Multifunction Instrument Display (MFID), and/or p70/p70R Autopilot Control Head has been interfaced. The MFD, MFID, or autopilot control head would then permit the operator to configure which of these data sources is to be used by the Raymarine system for the selected type of data (GPS, GPS Datum, Time and Date, Heading, Depth, Speed, Wind). Multiple Data Source Selection is not possible in a system which includes of any of the following products: - ST70 Instruments - ST70+ Displays - SPX Autopilot Course Computer - SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter (if updated with v2.01 or later software, this restriction does not apply) - E-Series Classic MFDs - C-Series Widescreen MFDs - E-Series Widescreen MFDs - AIS500 - third party products Should your system feature one or more of the above listed devices, then the operator should not attempt to use the Data Sources feature until the blocking device(s) have been disconnected from the system. The blocking device may be temporarily disconnected from the backbone to then permit data source selection to be performed. After doing so, then the devices which had been disconnected from the system may once again be connected to the system. In systems featuring a single source of data, the a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs, i70 MFID, and p70/p70R will automatically detect and use data from that source. NOTE: Should a SPX autopilot course computer be the source of power for the SeaTalkng backbone, then temporarily disconnecting the SPX autopilot course computer from the SeaTalkng backbone will require that the backbone be temporarily supplied with power from a SeaTalkng Power Cable (connected to a 12V power circuit) until Source Selection has been completed. It is recommended that you verify that Raymarine products be maintained with the latest available Raymarine product software updates and in the case of the SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter, should it not have been updated with the latest software, will block use of Data Sources feature. If the software within these components is not current and should you not have a compatible Raymarine MFD to perform the updates, then these updates may be performed by a Certified Raymarine Installer, Raymarine’s Product Repair Center, and most Raymarine Dealers (check with your dealer).
