RE: [CA11] Auto Pilot Intermittent Loss
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Pete,
Please note that Raymarine does not make a Seatalk-NMEA 0183 Cable, nor would NMEA 0183 communications typically be used to interface these products to one another. All communications between the MFD and legacy autopilot should be through a single SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter which has been updated with the latest SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter software. A SeaTalkng to NMEA 0183 Kit would not and should not be interfaced to any device other than a DSC VHF radio or SSB. Please click here to view a FAQ addressing how these products should be interfaced to one another. Attention should be paid to the information specifying that the SeaTalk bus must not be powered (particularly by the autopilot course computer). Additionally, should the system feature more than one source for any type of data (ex. GPS (system has Raystar 125 GPS Sensor and MFD has internal GPS Sensor), heading, wind, depth, speed, etc.), then the MFD's Data Sources feature must be used to specify which source will be used by the system for each type of data having more than one source within your system. |
