RE: [CA11] NMEA 2000 cables
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum David,
When originally created, the NMEA 2000 standard did not specify a plug design. Accordingly, marine electronics manufacturers were free to design their own plug/socket designs. Over time, DeviceNet micro-C plugs/sockets seem to have been adopted by most marine electronics manufacturers. Raymarine's SeaTalkng networking components feature proprietary plugs and sockets. Raymarine offers adapter which may be used to adapt third party products to be interfaced to a NMEA 2000 backbone which has been constructed from SeaTalkng networking components. |
