RE: [CA11] a75, NMEA 183 and Seatalk1 integration
gusigle,

Q1. I guess I was wrong, but reading p 57 (RAY_a-c-e Series_ESP, chapter 4.13, image attached), I thought it would be possible to connect gx2200 to the A series MFD whithout a bridging device, sending DSC and AIS data from vhf to MFD (one direction only). So, this is not possible, isn't it?
A1. The diagram which you have referenced addresses how one may supply a VHF radio with GPS data from an a-Series MFD. Were one simply interested in doing so, then this would indeed be a solution. However, it does not address how one may supply the MFD with AIS data from the VHF radio / AIS receiver. If seeking the latter, then the solution provided within my initial response must be employed to not only supply the VHF radio with GPS data, but also to supply the MFD with GPS data from the GX2200 VHF radio / AIS receiver.

Q2. Is there any diference between the 5 way connectors included in E22158 and E70196 kits? Is the same R52131 in both kits?
A2. The SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter contained within the E22158 SeaTalk1 to SeaTalkng Converter Kit and E70196 VHF NMEA 0183 to STng Converter Kit are identical.
