RE: [CA11] SeaTalkhs 2 ports on the MFD? Why?
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum mainehunter426,

The 9" & 12" a/c/e/eS-Series MFDs each feature two Ethernet Network (RayNet) communications interfaces to permit these MFDs to be interfaced to up to two additional compatible devices having an Ethernet communications interface (ex. other MFDs, radomes, open array pedestals, fishfinder sounder modules, SiriusXM Satellite Weather / Radio Receiver, thermal camera(s), IP camera(s), Remote Keyboard(s), etc.). Within a simple system of two 9" or 12" MFDs, one of these interfaces from each MFD's to one another (via an appropriate length of RayNet(F) to RayNet (F) Cable) to permit the system's Data Master MFD to share all system data and resources (except for analog (NTSC/PAL) camera video) with the system's repeater MFD. Should the MFD(s) need to be interfaced to more compatible devices having an Ethernet communications interface than are supported by the available number of MFD Ethernet Network (RayNet) communications interfaces, then it would be necessary to install a HS5 RayNet Network Switch(es) within the system, to handle the additional devices which on wants to interface to the system.
