Although no change in name was introduced, the HD and SuperHD pedestals were produced in "non-enhanced" and "enhanced" variants. The product IDs of the "enhanced" variant feature and "E" suffix on their product ID. Early production HD and SuperHD pedestals were "non-enhanced" in that they featured circuitry & software which neither support 48 RPM nor bird mode. Later, Raymarine made a running production change which essentially introduced the "enhanced" variants which featured circuitry & software which supported the aforementioned features. The reported error will be generated if the system erroneously attempts to update the software within a "non-enhanced" HD and SuperHD pedestal with software for an "enhanced" HD and SuperHD pedestal.
