Thanks very much for your timely reply. Yes, the rudder indicator bar on the AP head unit displays the rudder direction and angle accurately.
So, do I understand you correctly that it is possible that the fluxgate compass could be defective even though it has passed the impedance tests? If so, that would lead me toward thinking it is a problem with the compass, as everything on the head unit seems to work fine. Also, I am confused as to why the wheel is no longer locked out (made ineffective) when the AP is in Auto mode. Now, even when in Auto mode, when I turn the wheel, it moves the rudders. That would lead me toward thinking the problem is with the head unit. A real dilemma here. |
