I see what you mean but since the elements resolution appears to be much better than Garmin I would stop the boat and look sideways and see what it looks like and turn the boat and go straight if I did not see any hazards that way. I would not be trying to look as I turn as I would think it would get blurry -nor would I expect to look good as I turn. Just trying to say that I could use it as a forward scan in a pinch doing it that way.

My main question this post is does the resolution diminish any since I am in pretty mucky water. Its a fresh water lake but the water is not very clear. If there is a rock say 2 feet deep you can see it but seeing 2-3 feet down is about it I would say.
