RE: [CA11] Current limit error
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Mark,

These symptoms are indeed odd. Under most conditions, these symptoms would be indicative of a problem with the drive unit (either its motor or within its clutch). This may be verified by disconnecting not only the drive unit's motor leads from the course computer, but also its clutch leads. Should the problem abate when tested in this manner, then the drive unit would be deemed to be in need of service or replacement. However, should the problem persist when tested in this manner, then it would be indicative of a failing component of within the course computer's circuitry. Unfortunately, Raymarine can no longer service S1/S1G/S2/S2G/S3/S3G autopilots, requiring that the autopilot be replaced or that a second hand S1G be located when the current unit fails completely.
