[CA11] Connecting GX2200 to Es78
I am having no luck making a connection between my GX2200 radio with AIS and my eS78. I am using a NMEA 0183 cable R70414 (as Raymarine techs told me I could), attaching wires from the VHF and using the video plug-in. I connected wires by following directions from Standard Horizon Tech Support:
-the blue GPS input (+) from the GX2200 to the yellow output (+) of the eS78. -the grey DSC output from the GX2200 connected to the white NMEA input (+) of the eS78. -the brown DSC output (-) and the green GPS input (-) wires from the GX2200 are connected to green input (-) and the brown output (-) of the eS78. The tech had asked for the brown and green wires from the GX2200 to be connected to "NMEA ground(-) on the plotter". Is my interpretation of this correct? All 0183 sentences are turned on in the GX2200. Both units have been set to 8300 baud. At any rate, the AIS icon on the eS78 screen remains grey, showing no connection has been made. How do I resolve this problem? |
