RE: [CA11] Raystar 125 - How long is too long for it to fix
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Mike,

The time which you have specified would be typical for a cold start condition (i.e. no prior position / almanac data retained). The Raystar 125 GPS Sensors also featured an internal CR2032 memory battery. Should this battery be depleted, then the aforementioned data will not be retained and a cold start will occur. To test, permit the system to acquire a GPS position FIX and then switch the system OFF. Should switching the system on again not then permit the system to almost instantly reacquire a FIX, then it would appear that the GPS sensor's battery is depleted and should be changed. A series of small screws located on the underside of the sensor secure the upper shell to the base. After the upper shell is removed, you will see the battery slot housing the aforementioned battery. Simply slide out the old battery, replace it with a new one, and then carefully reassemble the GPS sensor ... or replace the GPS sensor with a Raystar 150 GPS Sensor.
