RE: [CA11] EV-200 vs EV-400
Welcome back to the Raymarine Forum Andrew,

For the most part, actuator control units (ACUs) and legacy course computers are differentiated by the maximum amount of power that they can output to an autopilot drive unit. Accordingly, one selects the drive unit which is appropriate for the vessel's steering and power distribution system and then selects an ACU or legacy course computer which is rated for at least the drive unit selected. Please click here to view Raymarine's web page addressing autopilot drive unit selection. Selecting an ACU or legacy course computer with greater maximum power output than is required by the drive unit may result in greater ACU or legacy course computer longevity. In this case the EV-200 is differentiated from the EV-400 in that the EV-200 is supplied with an ACU-200 Actuator Control Unit and the EV-400 is supplied with an ACU-400 Actuator Control Unit.
