RE: Which NMEA "depth" will be displayed?
danderer,
Unlike depth is provided from a Raymarine fishfinding product or Raymarine instrument, Raymarine products do not support application of a depth offset to depth data received from a NMEA 0183 source of depth data. While the NMEA 0183 DBT sentence does not feature an offset, the DPT sentence does indeed feature an offset. Should the MFD receive a DPT sentence with a populated offset field, then the Depth data item reported by the MFD will be adjusted using the offset contained within the received DPT sentence. |
