RE: [CA11] acu 200 and type 2 pump
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum
Q1. Can a type 2 pump be used with the ACU 200 A1. Negative. Q2. do you have to use the ACU 400 with the type 2 pump? A2. Yes. Q3. My boat ram capacity is right at the limits of the type 1 pump, so went with the type 2 pump A3. It is alright to install an ACU higher capacity than is required for the drive unit. However, unlike mechanical and hydraulic linear drives, installing a hydraulic pump having a minimum capacity which is greater than the steering ram's volume is not recommended. Type 1 Hydraulic Pumps are rated to steering cylinders up to 230cc (14in3). Type 2 Hydraulic Pumps are rated to steering cylinders beginning at 230cc (14in3). Accordingly, unless the steering cylinder has a cubic capacity of 230cc (14in3) or greater, then the Type 1 Hydraulic Pump should be installed if the steering cylinder has a cubic capacity in the 80cc – 230cc (4.9in3–14in3) range. |
