Thank you Chuck for your reply, and I hope you can answer a few follow up questions.
Your answer sounds as if I have another MFD that is hooked to the DSM 400, I do not. It came to me connected to my e165, which I am now understanding will not work together, even though the previous owner of the boat said had at one time worked together for him. Can you please tell me what MDF or sounder screen would the DSM 400 have been designed to work best with?
Also, if I do replace the sounder with a newer one that will talk with my e165 MFD, will any of the new ones work with my Airmar SS270w, 50kHz and 200kHz through-hull transducer presently installed in the hull?
