Things to consider when selecting new equipment
Things to consider when selecting new equipment
When seeking advice for new equipment to be installed on one's boat, including the following information can be very helpful: - a list of the marine electronics products which are presently installed onboard the boat - a list of the features/capabilities that you are seeking to add - type of usage (serious fishing, cruising, offshore sailing, bay sailing, racing, etc.) - type vessel (displacement powerboat, planing powerboat, sailboat, etc.) - any physical constraints (ex. size of the display, desire for in-hull transducer, etc.) - type of steering (cable, hydraulic, chain & sprocket, cable assisted hydraulic, fly by wire, tiller, etc.) ... a consideration for autopilots - vessel length ... a consideration for depth transducers and autopilots - vessel displacement ... a consideration for autopilots - type of propulsion ... a consideration for depth transducers and autopilots - hull material ... a consideration for in-hull depth transducers and autopilots RAYFAQ# |
